I am a native of C-U and I have been a licensed barber for 22 years. I am a well rounded  barber that cuts all textures. I also specialize in beard sculpting and mens facial grooming. One of my most popular services is the “Beard Culture Experience,” which includes full haircut, relaxing hot towel facial steam, and facial message completed with a detailed beard sculpture! 

My wife and I opened Beard Culture Barbershop in 2021. Since we have been open we have had the privilege of winning the Chambana Buy Black Business of the Year award and The News Gazette People’s Choice Award for Best Barbershop and have been featured in many articles! We also had the privilege of being chosen to cut the original members of the iconic band, Earth Wind & Fire! Our barbershop also includes an art gallery with more than 40 pieces exhibited from local artists. We are a full service barbershop that offers a professional and family friendly environment.

Growing up, I was inspired by my brother and dad—both barbers themselves—who showed me the craft from a young age. I officially started my journey at 21 and attended BNBC (Bloomington & Normal Barber College), where I sharpened my skills and learned the art of precision, style, and customer care. Whether it’s a clean fade, a sharp lineup, or a classic cut, I’m all about helping clients look and feel their best in the chair. Alan Guerrero began cutting at the age of 13 and soon became the go to barber for many friends and schoolmates in Champaign, IL. After realizing that he had a gift and was passionate about the craft he decided to attend Bloomington – Normal Barber College after graduating high school. 

He has completed his studies and enters the career of barbering as professional barber! Alan is ready to make his name ring as one of the up and coming barbers in our industry. 

Alan is a well rounded barber that specializes in cutting all textures of hair (tapers,

fades, scissor cuts etc.) He is a much welcomed addition to our Beard Culture family.
